OUR MISSION
BloomShare
Welcome to Westwood Farm Share, where we believe in the power of flowers to brighten lives and build community. Through BloomShare, we extend our mission of generosity by sharing our premium blooms with seniors in assisted living facilities, bringing joy, connection, and a touch of nature to their day.
BloomShare was inspired by a very special aunt and uncle, Bob and Linda, who cherished the wildflowers along the mountain trails of North Idaho, where we rode. Their profound love for each other, legendary work ethic in the timber industry, and deep appreciation for nature touched countless lives. Linda's stunning lilacs and roses reflected her gardener's heart, while Bob's unwavering devotion to her moved everyone who knew them. During their final years together in assisted living amid the COVID pandemic, flower deliveries were not permitted—a time when such simple joys were needed most.
This program honors those like Bob and Linda who cultivated and shaped our community. For the growers and builders, the crafters and dreamers who created this place we call home: we see you. BloomShare invites us to pause with intention, to share our farm's bounty, and to express gratitude to those who have given so much.
In a world of endless to-do lists, BloomShare reminds us to stop and smell the proverbial roses—connecting generations through the simple, timeless gift of fresh, locally grown flowers.
"Happiness held is the seed; Happiness shared is the flower."
Nominate a Senior Community for BloomShare
We believe every senior deserves the joy that fresh flowers bring! While we wish we could deliver bouquets to every assisted living center in our area, as a small farm, we need to grow our impact thoughtfully.
If you know a senior living community whose residents would be brightened by seasonal blooms at one of our weekly deliveries, please email us a brief (under one page) letter explaining why we should select them for our BloomShare program. Each month, we choose one senior community with a meaningful connection to our area and provide complimentary flower deliveries.
Send your nomination letter to westwoodflowerfarm@gmail.com.
We share their stories (with permission) to honor those who shaped our community and to inspire others to recognize the lasting impact of our seniors. Together, we can spread joy one bloom at a time!
Research: A six-month behavioral study by Rutgers University demonstrated that flowers ease depression, inspire social networking, and refresh memory for seniors as they age.
